I have been suffering some pretty severe insomnia over the past few weeks and decided that I really needed to get some blackout curtians, especially now that spring is on it's way.
So I ran out to a local store and purchased these curtians. They are very effective at blocking light, they claim that they cut out 99% of light, I'm sure in mathmatical test results that would hold true. From my perspective I'd say that they cut down 95% of the incoming light.
If your looking for something that will block out light 100% pair these with a black out liner, ones from Roc-Lon seem to be pretty good.
Over all I'm pretty satisfied with the results I got. I have a color similar to the "Olive", which I didn't expect to block light nearly as well as a darker colored fabric.
If you really think that curtains are going to noticeably reduce the volume of a highway or train outside your window, you should be medicated. Now, if you want to keep your room a lot darker and a little warmer, then these curtains are pretty good. With some cheap blinds and a curtain rod, only a little light creeps into my bedroom around the edges of the curtains. Good product, good price.
