There are so many things I love about these curtains. My bedroom is very gothic and I hate outside light when I'm sleeping. When I say gothic I'm not talking about the hideous cartoony stuff that you get when you search anything and add the word "gothic" to the keywords. I'm talking color, style, materials... First the material is amazing. The material is heavy and a bit stiff which is what I was looking for. It also has a slightly velvet feel to it. The color is true black. There is no other color reflected off it no matter how much interior light is on them. I can picture these hanging in a 19th century English victorian house. I hate outside light and I live in a condo development that requires curtains to have white backing so I have them over white black-out curtains so I don't know how well they work on their own but I've had room darkening shades before over the black-outs without this much success. My room is like a cave at night now and they definitely make the room quieter than any curtains I've had previously. The only downside was the length. I really wanted a 72" length, which wasn't available, and the 63" length I had to settle for were short. The white black-out curtains underneath are 63" and they were longer than these. So I turned up the black-out curtains the length of the hem and used paper binders to hold it rather and actually have them stitched and they look great.
